Equine Services

Our equine team takes pride in offering to equine clients a high quality veterinary service to ensure your horse will perform to its maximum potential.

Our equine veterinarians are involved in most aspects of equine practice including Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing, eventing, pony club and studwork.

 

Medicine and Surgery

Our equine veterinarians are able to provide a comprehensive service for your horses which is based on high quality veterinary knowledge and a wealth of experience. Medical workups are backed by access to full laboratory service and modern therapeutic options.

 

Reproductive Work

We have highly experienced veterinarians in the reproductive field and can cater for all breeds. We can provide a service in artificial insemination, semen collection and ultrasound scans.

 

Lameness Work

We can provide thorough clinical lameness workups using regional anaesthesia, x-ray and tendon scanning examinations.

 

Pre-purchase Examinations

We cater for pre-purchase examinations in all classes of horses. Such examinations are performed in accordance with the format provided but the Equine Branch of the New Zealand Veterinary Association. Optional specialised diagnostic procedures available include radiography, electrocardiography, and endoscopy.

 

Diagnostic Tools

To assist in the diagnosis and treatment of equine problems our veterinarians offer the use of portable x-rays, endoscopy, general anaesthesia, ECG examinations, ultrasound examinations including tendon scanning and laboratory facilities including in-house blood sample analysis .
