Dairy Services

Preventative Services and Advice

We are focused on preventative animal health, aiming  to identify and solve problems as early as possible.

 

Mastitis - We provide mastitis treatment programs and advice along with solutions for high somatic cell counts, clinical mastitis, milk grading problems and dry cow therapy.

Vaccination Programs - We provide vaccination programs to prevent leptospirosis, clostridial diseases, B.V.D, neospora abortion, pink eye and calf scours. 

Facial Eczema - weekly spore counts are taken from 3 control sites around the area during the FE season, to give you an idea of the risk of facial eczema.  We are also able to do spore counts on samples from your own farm.  Results are available the same day that the sample is bought into the clinic.

Trace elements - blood testing, liver sampling, pasture and feed testing are all available to our clients.

Lameness - Prevention is always better than cure with lameness.  We can look at a number of factors to identify problem areas and advise you on possible improvements, treatments and management of lameness.

 

Medicine and Surgery

We provide a comprehensive veterinary service to individual animals - including sickness, lameness, calvings and metabolic problems (Ketosis, grass staggers, milk fever, etc.) 

Surgical care such as fracture repair, gut surgery, caesarians, lump removals and teat stitching are all available. 

Our vets are on call 24 hours a day to assist with problems should you require them outside of normal clinic hours.

 

Rearing Programs

We can help you set up rearing programs for young stock to minimise infectious diseases, parasitism and mineral deficiencies.  We can also advise you on target weights and help you achieve them.

 

Reproduction Management

We can arrange programs to suit your needs ranging from synchronizing of heifers and cows to solving non-cycling and fertility problems.  We can analyse your reproductive data and identify problem areas. 

We offer whole herd pregnancy testing - either by ultrasound or manually.

Our vets work with you to get compact calving patterns and optimal cow health through the mating period.

Bull soundness examinations are also available.
